Confirming what ahoo said. In order to obtain a new star you must beat the trainer with a deck you haven't beat him/her with before. With the old system you could use the same deck multiple times but overall took more games to complete all stars. The first two only required 1 game on the hardest difficulty but the last 2 required multiple games. Fun game, you can easily have months of fun without ever paying cash! My FREE deck wins around 60% of the Ranked games 😀 (smart token spending) but in the end, you miss out a lot if you never pay:/ so i would suggest having friends that collect and dont play, or buy card codes only, so no packs, for around $0,80 each, or in bulks for like $60 for 250 or so. In the Trainer Challenge, you'llplay using theme decks against computer-controlled opponents in three differentLeague Cup competitions. The Trainer Challenge offers players multiple levelsof rewards, including:
Winning a match with a Basic theme deck unlocks a new card for the deck. There are 7 cards to unlock for each Basic deck.
Winning 12 matches with a Basic theme deck unlocks that deck for use in Versus Mode.

Each of the 12 Trainers in the Trainer Challenge has a progress meter, measured in stars.
